Set up in a minute.

  1. Install Gemini CLI

    Follow the Gemini CLI setup. Starkomand finds gemini on your PATH.

  2. Sign in once

    Run gemini and choose Sign in with Google.

  3. Open it on the canvas

    ⌘-click the canvas and pick Gemini CLI. Every window you open after that starts signed in.

Worth knowing.

  • Gemini CLI starts MCP servers only in folders you trust, so canvas tools appear once the project folder is trusted.

Can I run multiple Gemini CLI sessions at once?

Yes. Each window runs its own gemini in a real terminal, so open as many as your plan allows, side by side or in separate workspaces, next to any other agent.

Does Starkomand change my Gemini CLI configuration?

Only its own extension folder, ~/.gemini/extensions/starkomand-canvas. Your settings.json and GEMINI.md files are not touched.

Do I need an API key for Gemini CLI?

Starkomand never asks for one. Run gemini and choose Sign in with Google. Your plan and usage stay with the provider; Starkomand does not resell tokens.
